Georgia Heart Physicians is a single specialty cardiology practice which has been serving the Middle Georgia Region since 2000. At Georgia Heart Physicians, we believe that your heart deserves the best care and it is our goal to provide that care. Our physicians are Dr. Obinnaya Emerole, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwabuebo and Dr. Christopher Ike. They are board certified cardiologists.
The Babcock University Teaching Hospital (College of Health and Medical Sciences) comprise of Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry and Public Health. In addition, it will provide facilities for a 750-bed Hospital comprising of: 200-bed Children Hospital, 250-bed Women Hospital, and an Adult Hospital.
The College of Medicine was conceived by the founding fathers as a Medical School which is an autonomous entity within the University of Lagos. It was founded to produce highly trained medical manpower to provide specialized medical services and to conduct research into health related problems. In October 1962, the first batch of 28 medical students were admitted into the College and they received their first lectures on October 3, 1962.
The University College Hospital, (UCH) Ibadan was established by an act of parliament in November 1952 in response to the need for the training of medical personnel and other healthcare professionals for the country and the West African Sub-Region. The physical development of the Hospital commenced in 1953 in its present site and was formally commissioned after completion on 20 November 1957. The University College Hospital, Ibadan was initially commissioned with 500-bed spaces. Currently, the hospital has 850 bed spaces and 163 examination couches with occupancy rates ranging from 55-60%.
